So, I attended my first ever Bar Mitzvah a few weeks ago, and what a cracker of a celebration it was. Held at one of my personal favourite Newcastle venues, the Biscuit Factory, and with a little (lot of) help from Tina at Toast Your Event, friends and family of the Netts clan partied hard and celebrated Jack’s coming of age.

These guys are EVERYWHERE at the moment. They’re ripping up the charts. They’re currently showing the States what they’re made of. And, every time I turn on the telly, there they are. They are talented guys, they sound great live, and they’re good fun (and let’s be honest, quite easy on the eye!). This collection of images captures some behind the scenes moments, some out takes, and a little bit of rockin out!

THE END….

Cathi and Adrian chose to do their pre-wedding shoot at Roseberry Topping in North Yorkshire. But first, we had to fuel up with the obligatory Suggits Icecream in the gorgeous little town of Great Ayton. If you haven’t visited this part of the world, get yourself along there. I’d like to think that the sugar high was to blame for the shenanigans during the shoot, but I’ve come to know that this is default mode for these two. Right back when we first met, Cathi warned me that Adrian will more than likely pick her up and throw her over his shoulder in her wedding dress. Seems Adrian used our shoot as an opportunity for a practice run.  I absolutely love spending time with these two people. They are spontaneous and ridiculous. And because of their fun attitude, their wedding at the Baltic on Sept 8th is shaping up to be one hell of a party.

a Barker and Stonehouse house?

Who can resist a smooth South American? Not me, it seems. I picked up a packet of this here Coffee Johnny yesterday, made by the good people at the Ouseburn Coffee Co. Apart from being produced by a local business, the thing that really sucked me in was the story behind the name of the blend, and so it goes: “our superior blend of South American coffee takes it’s name from the local blacksmith and flamboyant bare knuckle boxer John Oliver, who gained notoriety throughout the city for his towering height and a trademark white top hat. No one can now be sure exactly why he was named ‘Coffee Johnny’ but we suspect he liked a brew of one sort or another so raise your cup to Coffee Johnny 1829-1900.” Ha. Totally and utterly random. I love it!
